39 Enchantments in Minecraft – Part 2

Many types of enchantments can’t be combined to avoid creating too powerful weapons that disrupt the balance of the game. However, when you use a command (or a third-party program) it is still possible to effectively combine these enchantments.

You can also use commands to level up enchantments above the “max level” when playing survival, like Looting V for example. All of these sections will have their own instructions in another post.

II Types of enchantments

9. Protection

Max level: IV

Items: Armor (helmet, chestplate, leggings, boots), Turtle Shell.

Uses: Reduces overall damage. Each level is reduced by 4%, up to 80% (the armor parts are stacked, 80% will not increase anymore).

Note:

  • This enchantment can’t protect you when: Falling out of the world, kill command, starving to death.
  • Can’t be used with Fire Protection, Blast Protection, Projectile Protection (can be used with Feather Falling).
  • Max level 20 (parts of armor can be stacked to reach 80% cap).
  • When using the command, the above types of protective enchantments can be overlapped and used normally.

10. Fire Protection

Max level: IV

Items: Armor (helmet, chestplate, leggings, boots), Turtle Shell.

Uses:

  • Reduces fire damage and burn time.
  • Each level reduces fire damage by 8% , up to 80% damage reduction (armor parts are stacked, 80% will not increase anymore).
  • When you wear multiple parts of armor, the burn time decreases according to the highest level (doesn’t stack).

Note: Can’t be used with Protection, Blast Protection, Projectile Protection (can be used with Feather Falling).

  • Level 10 max (parts of armor can be stacked to reach 80% cap).
  • When using the command, the above types of protective enchantments can be overlapped and used normally.

11. Feather Falling

Max level: IV

Item: Boots.

Uses:

  • Reduces damage from falling from above. Each level reduces damage by 12%, stacks with Protection, up to 80% (armor parts are stacked, 80% will no longer increase).
  • Reduces damage when using Ender Pearl.
  • Max level 7 (parts of armor can be stacked to reach 80% cap).
  • When using the command, the above types of protective enchantments can be overlapped and used normally.

12. Blast Protection

Max level: IV

Items: Armor (helmet, chestplate, leggings, boots), Turtle Shell.

Uses:

  • Reduces damage and knocked back by explosions.
  • Each level reduces explosion damage by 8% , up to 80% (armor parts are stacked, 80% will not increase anymore).
  • When you wear multiple parts of armor, the amount of knocked back reduction based on highest level (does not stack). However, you must have Explosion Protection VII or higher and be near an explosion for it to take effect.

Note: Can’t be used with Protection, Fire Protection, Projectile Protection (can be used with Feather Falling).

  • Max level 255 (parts of armor can be stacked to reach 80% cap).
  • When using the command, the above types of protective enchantments can be overlapped and used normally.

13. Projectile Protection

Max level: IV

Items: Armor (helmet, chestplate, leggings, boots), Turtle Shell.

Uses: Reduces damage from being shot, such as arrows, tridents (throws), fireballs, etc. Each level is reduced by 8%, up to 80% (armor parts are stacked, 80% will not increase anymore).

Note: Can’t be used with Protection, Blast Protection , Fire Protection (can be used with Feather Falling).

  • Max level 10 (parts of armor can be stacked to reach 80% cap).
  • When using the command, the above types of protective enchantments can be overlapped and used normally.

For protective enchantments, enchantments on parts of the armor are stacked, when the max value is reached, it will not increase anymore. This part is quite long, I can’t explain much, you can find it on the page Minecraft Wiki.

14. Respiration

Max level: III

Items: Helmet, Turtle Shell.

Uses: Extends underwater breathing time by 15 seconds per level.

  • Max level 255.
  • Can enchant other parts of the armor (chestplate, leggings, boots) if using commands.

15. Aqua Affinity

Max level: I

Items: Helmet, Turtle Shell.

Uses: Increases the speed of underwater mining.

  • Max level 1, higher levels effective like Lv1.

16. Thorns

Max level: III

Items: Armor (helmet, chestplate, leggings, boots), Turtle Shell.

Uses:

  • Has 15% chance of inflicting 1-4 damage to the attacker (increasing by 15% each level). Chance is 100% max at level 7. If Thorns’s level exceeds 10, it will deal damage equal to level – 10 health .
  • In creative mode, you can use Thorns on Horse Armor and it will still work.
  • Max level 255.

17. Depth Strider

Max level: III

Item: Boots.

Uses:

  • Increases underwater movement speed. Each level reduces the amount of water that slows the player by 1/3. By level 3 of enchantment, the player can move underwater as fast as walking on land.
  • In creative mode, you can enchanted Depth Strider up Horse Armor and it works.

Note: Can’t be used with Frost Walker.

  • Max level 3, higher levels effective like Lv3.
  • Can enchant other parts of the armor if commands are used.
  • Can be used with Frost Walker if using command.

18. Frost Walker

Max level: II

Item: Boots.

Uses:

  • Freezes water when moving on them.
  • This ice is not mineable and will melt very quickly. Ice takes longer to melt without sunlight.
  • Take no damage while walking on Magma Block and Campfire.

Note:

  • Can’t be used with Depth Strider.
  • This is a precious enchantment, which can’t be obtained from the Enchantment Table.
  • Loss of effect when enchanting other parts of armor..
  • Max level 14, higher levels effective like Lv14.
  • Can be used with Depth Strider if command is used.

19. Soul Speed

Max level: III

Item: Boots.

Uses: Increases player speed when walking on Soul Sand and Soul Soil. Increases 2.5% (level 1), 15% (level 2), 27.5% (level 3), respectively, of speed compared to normal when walking on Soul Sand and Soul Soil.

Note:

  • Can’t be used with Depth Strider.
  • This is a precious enchantment, which can’t be obtained from the Enchantment Table . They can be found in the chests of Bastion Remnant or exchanged with Piglin for them.
  • Max level 255.

20. Sharpness

Max level: V

Items: Sword, Axe.

Effect: Increases damage by 0.5 × level + 0.5 (increase damage by 1 at level 1, next levels increase by 0.5 damage).

Note: Can’t be used with Smite ,Bane of Arthropods.

  • Maximum level 255 (can be stacked further).
  • Can be used with Smite and Bane of Arthropods if command is used

21. Smite

Max level: V

Items: Sword, Axe.

Uses: Increases damage to undead mobs such as: Skeleton, Zombie and their variants, etc. Each level increases 2.5 damage per hit.

Note: Can’t be used with Sharpness, Bane of Arthropods .

  • Maximum level 255 (can be stacked further).
  • Can be used with Sharpness and Bane of Arthropods if commanded.

22. Bane of Arthropods

Max level: V

Items: Sword, Axe.

Uses:

  • Increases damage to arthropod mobs such as: Spider, Cave Spider, Bee, etc. Each level increases by 2.5 damage per attack.
  • Also, apply Slowness IV to them, with a random duration of 1 to 1.5 seconds at level 1, increased duration up to 0.5 seconds per level, up to 3.5 seconds on Bane of Arthropods V.

Note: Can’t be used with Sharpness, Smite.

  • Maximum level 255 (can be stacked further).
  • Can be used with Smite and Sharpness if using commands.

23. Knockback

Max level: II

Item: Sword.

Uses: When hitting, causes the opponent to move backwards. Each level increases by 3 blocks.

  • Max level 255.

24. Fire Aspect

Max level: II

Item: Sword.

Uses:

  • Burn the target. Each level adds 4 seconds of fire. Correspondingly, take 3 more damage (level 1) and 7 damage (level 2).
  • When the mob dies, it will drop cooked meat.

Note: Mobs that are immune to fire and lava are also immune to this enchantment.

  • Max level 255.

25. Looting

Max level: III

Item: Sword.

Uses: Each level will increase the maximum number of items that can be dropped by 1. Along with that, rare items will increase the chance of dropping.

  • Max level 255, can cause lag.

26. Sweeping Edge

Max level: III

Item: Sword.

Effect: Increases the damage dealt to mobs by each hit from a sweep attack to 50% (level 1), 67% (level 2), 75% (level 3) of the sword’s attack damage.

  • Maximum level 255 corresponds to 99.6% of the main attack’s damage.

27. Power

Max level: V

Item: Bow.

Effect: Increases damage dealt by 50% at level 1, and each level increases stack damage by 25%.

  • Max level 255.

28. Punch

Max level: II

Item: Bow.

Effect: When attacking, causes the opponent to be knocked back 3 blocks per level (same as Knockback but used for Bow).

  • Max level 255.

29. Flame

Max level: I

Item: Bow.

Uses:

  • Arrows will ignite when fired, setting mobs on fire, dealing 4 damage over 5 seconds.
  • This flaming arrow only affects players, mobs, TNT, campfire.

Note: Loss of effect when shot through water or rain.

  • Max level 1, higher levels effective like Lv1.

30. Infinity

Max level: I

Item: Bow.

Uses: Can shoot unlimited arrows with at least one arrow in the inventory.

Note:

  • Can’t be used with Mending.
  • Has no effect on tipped arrows.
  • Can enchant the crossbow if using the command.
  • Max level 1, can be used with Mending if using command.

31. Loyalty

Max level: III

Item: Trident.

Effect: Causes Trident to return to its owner after being thrown. Return speed depends on level and distance. Level 1 takes three seconds to go back over ten blocks, while level 3 will take one second for every ten blocks.

  • Max level 127.
  • Loyalty can’t be used with Riptide.

32. Impaling

Max level: V

Item: Trident.

Effect: Deals an additional 2.5 damage per hit. Only works with underwater mobs such as: DolphinGuardianElder GuardianTurtle, fish… except Drowned (because they are undead mobs).

  • Maximum level 255 (can be stacked further).

33. Riptide

Max level: III

Item: Trident.

Uses: Allows the player to use the Trident as a means of transportation. The formula for the number of blocks the Trident throws to the user is (6 × level) + 3 when in rain, snow or standing on water and (4 × level) + 3 when underwater.

Note: Riptide can’t be used with Loyalty and Channeling even with commands.

  • Max level 255, can cause lag.
  • Can’t be used with Loyalty and Channeling.

34. Channeling

Max level: I

Item: Trident.

Uses: Channeling summons a flash of lightning that hits the mob (or player) hit by the Trident (thrown). Mobs must be outside in the rain and not underwater for it to work.

Note:

  • Thanks to Channeling, you can turn Creeper into Charged CreeperVillager into Witch, etc.
  • Max level 1.
  • Can’t be used with Riptide, if used together, Riptide will replace Channeling.

35. Multishot

Max level: I

Item: Crossbow.

Uses: The Crossbow has the Multishot enchantment capable of shooting 3 arrows per shot. The arrows fly in 3 different directions spaced 10° horizontally.

Note:

  • Each use costs 3 durability instead of 1.
  • Multishot can’t be used with Piercing.
  • Max level 1.
  • Can be used with Piercing if using commands.

36. Quick Charge

Max level: III (The highest is level 5 if using commands, higher makes the Crossbow not load anymore)

Item: Crossbow.

Effect: The charging time is reduced by 0.25 seconds with each level, the maximum is reduced by 0.75 seconds (level 3).

  • Max level 5, at higher levels the crossbow doesn’t load anymore.

37. Piercing

Max level: IV

Item: Crossbow.

Uses:

  • Allows arrows to shoot through entities, each level increasing by 1 penetrating entity.
  • Arrows shot can be retrieved.
  • Shield can be ignored even if they are blocking.

Note: Piercing can’t be used with Multishot.

  • Max level 127, higher levels effective like Lv0.

38. Cleaving

Max level: III

Item: Axe.

Uses: Increases damage to the axe and disables the shield.

Note:

  • This enchantment is being tested, is expected in Java version 1.18.
  • Cleaving can’t be used with Sharpness, Smite, and Bane of Arthropods.
  • Can be used with Sharpness, Smite and Bane of Arthropods if using commands.

39. Curse of Binding

Max level: I

Items:  Armor, Elytra, Head, Skull, Carved Pumpkin, Turtle Shell.

Uses: When equipped with cursed items, they can’t be taken out. It is only until you die, cheat, or the item runs out of durability that you can escape the curse.. This is probably mainly trolling other people. 😂😂

Note: Although it is a curse, it is also a kind of precious enchantment.
